چکیده
TION um damage mechanics (CDM) models, particularly when into finite element models, offer the potential for g the damage accumulation process and the risk of eal skeletal structures. For example, Zysset and Curnier ite general inviscid, isotropic damage model to cancellous the central assumption that plastic flow and damage n are intrinsically related [1]. With evidence from our [2] and others that time-dependence [3] and damage 4] are significant in trabecular bone and a lack of specific l basis for assuming an intrinsic link between plastic flow , a unified constitutive model was developed to describe nd inelastic (viscous, plastic, and damage) behavior of ebral trabecular bone. This constitutive model was in finite element simulations using a commercial finite lysis (FEA) solver (ABAQUS, ABAQUS, Inc.), along ters determined from experimental data and the literature, e mechanical response of trabecular bone.

Multiaxial Viscoelasticity and Damage Effects in Vertebral Trabecular Bone
INTRODUCTION: The rapid expansion of the at-risk population for pathological fracture has led to increased interest in the ability to predict the mechanical behavior of trabecular bone as it relates to routine nontraumatic loading. A large body of work has established that the mechanical behavior of cancellous bone, particularly stiffness and strength under monotonic loading, is strongly depend...
متن کاملRheological Response and Validity of Viscoelastic Model Through Propagation of Harmonic Wave in Non-Homogeneous Viscoelastic Rods
This study is concerned to check the validity and applicability of a five parameter viscoelastic model for harmonic wave propagating in the non-homogeneous viscoelastic rods of varying density. The constitutive relation for five parameter model is first developed and validity of these relations is checked. The non-homogeneous viscoelastic rods are assumed to be initially unstressed and at rest....
متن کاملNonlinear viscoelastic characterization of bovine trabecular bone
The time-independent elastic properties of trabecular bone have been extensively investigated, and several stiffness-density relations have been proposed. Although it is recognized that trabecular bone exhibits time-dependent mechanical behaviour, a property of viscoelastic materials, the characterization of this behaviour has received limited attention. The objective of the present study was t...
متن کاملAnalysis of Five Parameter Viscoelastic Model Under Dynamic Loading
The purpose of this paper is to analysis the viscoelastic models under dynamic loading. A five-parameter model is chosen for study exhibits elastic, viscous, and retarded elastic response to shearing stress. The viscoelastic specimen is chosen which closely approximates the actual behavior of a polymer. The module of elasticity and viscosity coefficients are assumed to be space dependent i.e. f...
متن کاملAn Enhanced Viscoplastic Constitutive Model for Semi-Solid Materials to Analyze Shear Localization
Semi-solid materials undergo strain localization and shear band formation as a result of granular nature of semi-solid deformation. In the present study, to analyze the shear localization, a unified viscoplastic constitutive model was developed for the homogeneous flow. Then, a linearized analysis of the stability performed by examining the necessary condition for the perturbation growth. For t...
